For the first time in my life - I have been genuinely lost for words. A day spent with Sasha and Marija working their (literal) magic, managed to lift a weight of self doubt that had been on top of me for more than 30 years. I don’t know what sorcery you gals dabble in, but please never stop!! Such a game changer! Can not wait to be back for another special shoot in the not too distant (I hope) future.

I have still been processing the whole thing as I had my baby with me and was so busy on the day keeping her happy and getting her to sleep. But the girls were able to work around feed and nap times to make me up to be a goddess. I’ve never seen myself look so beautiful, I’m not awfully girly and usually hate photos and didn’t even get any good portraits on my wedding day. I also live with chronic pain, and it’s hard to see yourself as beautiful when your body feels bad most of the time, so I was stunned to see the photos. It’s also really beautiful considering my long journey with infertility to see myself as a fertility goddess holding my beautiful little prize. I love the choices Sasha made with the backdrop, to be honest I was a bit shell shocked on the day and wouldn’t have been able to make any decisions. The solo portrait looks like Demeter in the Autumn, bereft as Hades takes her daughter Persephone to the underworld to spend the winter there. The seated photo looks like Demeter in the spring, with her baby back in her arms where she belongs, making the world fertile and the flowers and crops grow again. Thank you for allowing me to see the goddess that always dwelt within me.
